Investment in laboratory and welding machine park enhances ARO weld test capabilities
ARO Welding Technologies has strengthened its position as a leading producer in the field of resistance welding, by completing the modernization and expansion of its Test Laboratory and Welding Machine Park at the group's Montval-sur-Loir manufacturing plant in France.
The new investment has increased ARO's resistance welding testing capabilities, underlining their commitment to product development and innovation. The test facility includes a number of new welding machines all fully networked, benefitting from the very latest cutting-edge technologies and replacement machines for cut-off, polishing, tensile testing etc. To compliment the expanded services, ARO has also strengthened its laboratory team.
Commenting on the expansion in France, Dr. Patrick Legall, Manager, of the ARO Test Laboratory said:
“These investments are part of a continuous improvement initiative. We offer our customers even more accurate tests which reflect the high quality of welds made using ARO equipment.
Every week, we advise and welcome companies from all sectors who bring us their samples or coupons to weld. We provide a detailed report of the tests showing the results and our recommendations for equipment and welding parameters. We also carry out for some customers, macrographic sections which permits an assessment of the quality of the welding nugget. Here at ARO every welding test is important as the solution is crucial to our customers’ equipment selection and production.”
The Welding Laboratory is equipped with numerous test stations representative of the wide range of ARO guns and machines. Based on the nature of the pieces or sheet metal to be assembled, ARO carries out spot, projection or seam welding. In parallel, the laboratory conducts a research activity which contributes to the permanent innovation of ARO products.
Today, ARO makes it possible to produce extremely robust welds on difficult to weld material such as aluminium alloys, very high resistance steels, titanium, etc. The company's Welding Laboratories in Europe and North America, carry out every type of welding test (peel test, macrographic section, radiogram, etc.) in order to define a reliable and optimal solution adapted to each individual need.
